Who we are
CitePep ("we", "us") operates citepep.com, a contributor identity and reputation network for knowledge publishing. You can reach us at contact@citepep.com.
What we collect
- Account information. If you create a contributor profile, we store the name, email, and profile details you provide (bio, headline, links, expertise tags).
- Public profile content. Your contributions and the reputation derived from them are public by design. That is the point of the service: a verifiable, portable record of your work.
- Messages. If you contact us, we keep your message and email so we can reply.
- Basic usage data. We record aggregate page views to understand traffic. We do not build advertising profiles.
What is public and what is private
Your contributor profile and contribution history are public: that is the service. Your email address is never shown publicly and is used only for account access and communication. We never sell your data.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies required for the site to function and optional analytics cookies to understand traffic, which you can decline. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can manage your choices any time through the cookie settings link.
How we use your data
To operate your account and public profile, to compute and display reputation from your accepted contributions, to communicate with you, and to keep the platform secure and accurate. We do not use your data for advertising.
Sharing
We share data only with service providers that help us run CitePep (such as hosting and email delivery), and only as needed to provide the service. We may disclose data where legally required. We do not sell or rent personal data.
Your rights
You can access, correct, or delete your account and profile, and request a copy of your data, by emailing contact@citepep.com. Deleting your account removes your private data; note that some attribution records may be retained in anonymized form where a publisher's page history depends on them.
Data retention & security
We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, and we apply reasonable technical measures to protect it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take protection seriously.
Changes
We will update this page if our practices change and revise the date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
