Article attributed a fabricated 2400-worker study to Paul McClure at the University of Manchester, and attributed invented specific follow-up statistics (24 percent reinstated, 2.3 hours gained, 18 percent velocity increase) to Shopify's real meeting purge.
The fabricated McClure citation was replaced with an unattributed but independently supported general finding about time-diary research on knowledge work; the Shopify figures were corrected to the company's actual reported outcomes, roughly a third less meeting time and roughly a quarter more completed projects.
