The exact change

Before

JAFZA is the UAE's oldest free zone, established in 1985... Over 8,000 companies operate from JAFZA, including many of the world's largest multinationals.

After

JAFZA is the UAE's oldest free zone, established in 1985... Over 11,000 companies operate from JAFZA, including many of the world's largest multinationals.

Suggested change

Corrected the JAFZA free zone company count, which was even more stale than the figure found elsewhere, updating it from 8,000 to 11,000. Also confirmed the DMCC award claim and Jebel Ali Port ranking claims are both accurate and not contradictory (they use different metrics).

Why this is better

The JAFZA company count was even more out of date than the figure used in the sister free-zones guide and needed to be brought up to the current published figure.

How this record is verified

  • The contribution is tied to a real, identified contributor, not an anonymous byline.
  • It counts only because the publisher, Corpy, accepted it. Self-claimed work earns nothing.
  • It is recorded against a specific page and cannot be bought or edited after the fact.
